Note: This update has not been released to the wild yet.
Dash is in the process of updating the Admin UI. Rather than do it all at once, we are rolling out updated features one-at-a-time. Along with updating the calendar, we have also updated the event page. This new UI will include pages that have additional left side navigation that act as tabs to allow a better experience on mobile devices or smaller screens. Here are some new additions and some name changes to keep in mind:
- Locker Rooms (event type dependent)
- Additional Resources (used to be called Add to Booking function)
- Tasks (used in conjunction with new Ice Cut feature)
- Setup and Takedown Duration
- Booking Manager Update
How it Looks
There is a navigational bar on the left to help access all of the different components that make up the specific event you are looking at.
This section displays the basic set up of the event. This includes the time, date, resource, staff, comments, custom fields, and more.
Some event types include the ability to add a roster and charge for the specific event. Here is how this tab will look.
In some cases you may have an event where you will either attach an existing invoice or create a new one to link to the event. You can see if there are any attached in this tab.
If the event is a part of a series, the amount of events will display along with the entire series.
This section used to be referred to "add to booking" in the old event UI. In the case where you need to attach a different event to the parent event, you can use this tab. An example would be a birthday party where you have a field rental and an additional resource could be the room rental or inflatable area.
For event types that have "Locker rooms" turned on, you will see this option on the left hand side as well as on an event. For a game, for example, you can choose to assign a Locker Room resource manually to the teams or assign them via Gender. Learn more about Locker Rooms here.
Assign a task to a staff member related to the event. For example, you may need to have a room cleaned up after a party or assign Ice Cuts into the calendar. On the event type, you can allow some additional time for setup or takedown along with a default task type.
On each event, you have the option to add an additional blocker to your event either as a setup or takedown. If you need to charge for this additional time, make sure to have the "Has Invoicing and is rentable" toggled on on the Event Type you are using.
Once you have the Event Type set up correctly, you will see the 'include in costs" option in the Event editor. When this is checked, the time you have added for the setup and/or takedown will be added to the cost of the event.
