Transferring Account Credits Tim November 03, 2015 00:11 Updated Follow If you have an account credit (maybe a redeemed gift certificate) applied to one customer, but they want to transfer it to someone else's account, this is how you would accomplish the exchange. For our example we will be moving a $100.01 credit: We'll need to use or edit a product to create a new invoice. Since the the credit is $100.01 we are going to need the product to be 0.01 instead of 1.00. Invoice the customer (Billy Bob) that we are moving the credit to. Essentially, they are purchasing a new gift certificate product in the amount of $100.01. Be sure to change the payment amount to $0.00 when submitting the payment to create an open invoice. Next, we will move the original customer's (Jane Doe) credit over to cover the new invoice created for Billy Bob. Select Make Payment on Jane's profile under their account balance and then click on the payment field next to their open invoice. Click on Make Payment. Leave this in the shopping cart. Now select Make Payment on Billy Bob's profile and then click on the payment field next to their open invoice. Click on Make Payment. Shopping cart should total $0.00. Press Checkout to get to the payment screen and then process checkout button. Now we go back and reverse Billy Bob's invoice, change the payment amount to $0.00 in order to create an account credit of $100.01 or press the "Account Credit" payment type.
